Momo wave inspires variations of traditional Himalayan delicacy in Chicago

Friday, October 18, 2019 PM CHICAGO (WLS) — You probably know what a dumpling is, but what about a momo? You might be tempted to call them dumplings, but the cooks would prefer it if you didn’t.

We serve mouth-watering momo that are steaming hot with delicious achar on the side. If you are a fan of ‘Jhol’ Momo we also offer varieties of ‘Jhol momo’.
Tibetan Delight Sha-Bhaley
Mouth-watering delicacy stuffed with minced chicken meat and peas that has slow cooked in fragrant Himalayan spices and given a ghee (butter) rub.
Unique platter for one, with your choice of meat or veg, Basmati rice served with fresh stir fried mustard leaves, tomato achar (pickle),vegetable curry, daal (lentils) Papadum, yogurt and mouth-watering desserts.
The restaurant is the brainchild of four like-minded people from Nepal with over two decades of experience in food service and hospitality industry. In 2016 Raj Thapa, Bhim Rai, Gopal GC and Bidur Kafle met in a cafe in downtown Chicago and conceptualized a plan to establish a restaurant that serves authentic Himalayan and Indian delicacies. The restaurant was formally open to customers on Monday, July 1, 2019.
Our chefs believe that to create great food they need to use great ingredient, therefore, using fresh ingredients to prepare our food is our top priority. That’s why we can create delicacies that are of highest quality and satisfies your taste buds every time.

Our chef Bhim Rai has 21 years of experience in food business. He is passionate about cooking the most delicious Himalayan delicacies to satisfy diverse taste buds by serving traditional Nepali, Thakali, Newari, Tibetan and Indian delicacies.
